Molecules Definition - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Molecules
Molecules Definition - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About MoleculesThe first and most important thing about the language of molecules is that there is no such thing as a molecule that is identical to another molecule. Each molecule of one substance is made up of atoms and is made up of its own constituent chemicals. Sometimes this composition includes molecular bonds, which are molecules that consist of more than one atom. So, what exactly does it mean to be a molecule? This can only be understood by defining the terms and seeing the principle behind what the chemist does when he synthesizes new compounds. In other words, the process has to be understood in the correct order. The common units for measuring quantities of molecules are mass and volume. These are used to classify things that are smaller than or larger than 100 millionths of a gram. Metals such as potassium, sodium, and calcium are lumped together as compounding. Molecules have a mass that is about ten times greater than that of the atoms which make up them. What happens when a molecule changes forms? Well, all sorts of chemical reactions take place to create this change. As an example, if a molecule which is a molecular weight unit was to absorb some of its molecular weight from another molecule, the change is actually a chemical reaction. At this point, we have created a complex compound, but not one that were originally defined. What the chemist does at this point is take the change in molecules and convert it into a chemical reaction. He takes the bonds between these molecules and pushes them apart. He breaks the bonds and creates molecules that have fewer bonds. Eventually, the molecules lose all of their bonds and become a solid mass.Molecules also play a part in biological processes, which are ultimately dependent on the fact that the molecules that make up their life forms contain the information needed to maintain their existence. These 'wiring' molecules are the ones which actually move throughout the cell, maintaining the proper balance of the number of oxygen and carbon molecules. The amount of oxygen that each molecule contains depends on how much carbon is present in the original form. Therefore, any change in the molecules' composition will affect the volume of each cell and eventually the lifespan of the organism.Molecules are still very important for living things. There are molecules that the cells use to carry the genetic information of the cell. There are molecules which can protect the cells against diseases and viruses. The more understanding that scientists have of how molecules are created and used in life, the more they will be able to improve upon life.

Online Tangent Formula Tutors
Online Tangent Formula Tutors Tangent of an angle is also represented as tan(), where is the angle measured in the first quadrant, second quadrant, third quadrant or the fourth quadrant in the coordinate plane. Tangent is one of the six important trigonometric functions and it is used to measure the sides or the angles of any given triangle. In a right angled triangle, tangent of an angle is the ratio of the opposite side to the adjacent side with respect to the particular angle and therefore it can also be written as: tan() = (opposite side)/ (adjacent side). Example 1: In the triangle ABC shown below, the side AB = 6m, BC = 8m. What is the tangent of the angle ? In triangle ABC, given angle ACB = The side opposite to the angle is the opposite side. This implies, side AB = Opposite side = 6m The side adjacent to angle is the adjacent side. This implies, side BC = Adjacent side = 8m Tangent of written as tan() = (Opposite side)/ (Adjacent side) Therefore tan() = 6/8 Example 2: For an angle , given sin() = 3/5 and cos() = 4/5. What is the tangent of the angle ? Given: sin() = 3/5 and cos() = 4/5 Tangent of the angle is also written as tan(). tan() is the ratio of sin() and cos(). This gives: tan() = sin()/ cos() This implies, tan() = (3/5)/ (4/5) - Now taking the reciprocal we get: (3/5) * (5/4) This gives: tan() = 3/4. Therefore we get, tan() = 3/4.

Why Introverts Benefit From a Greener Workplace - Introvert Whisperer
Introvert Whisperer / Why Introverts Benefit From a Greener Workplace - Introvert Whisperer Why Introverts Benefit From a Greener Workplace In todayâs political climate, the idea of working for a highly sustainable and environmentally friendly business can seem unlikely. However, more companies than ever are taking the desires of sustainability-minded employees and customers into consideration. Could office daydreams of reusable office silverware and eco-friendly furniture really be a reality one day? Going green may seem a bit cliche at this point, but taking steps to improve sustainability in your office space can have a lasting beneficial impact for both you and your fellow employees. It can make you more desirable to customers as well. There are many benefits to working within a green workplace, especially for those of us who are introverted. These benefits are wide-ranging and can have serious positive impacts on both physical and mental health. How Do Introverts Benefit Many offices are not exactly great for the environment or your health. New things such as paint, carpet, or furniture can actually emit low levels of toxic chemicals that can harm your respiratory and digestive system. Ways to help avoid this are solidly linked to a greener workspace and include doing things such as buying more environmentally sound office products and cleaning air ducts regularly. Another option is to work outside in nice weather, and doing so can double as a way to enjoy some quiet time alone. Investing in office plants is another small way to (literally) go green and make a big difference in the office. Plants are known to help improve air quality, which can help limit illness. But they have also been shown to help calm the mind and promote focus in busy situations. Plants can really be a green introvertâs best friend! Introverts can also benefit from their office going green by soaking up more natural light. Opening blinds and reducing the need for fluorescent office lights can not only help reduce carbon emissions and save your office money by reducing energy consumption by nearly 75%, but it can also give you more energy. Natural light can help reduce feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, and fatigue, which can really improve work conditions. Working from your favorite well-lit nook at home can also be a way to enjoy natural light, take advantage of a quiet workspace, and save the company money by not commuting in. Getting Others on Board Once the many benefits of a greener workspace are realized, the next big step is getting others to see the light as well. There are many ways to help encourage others to be more sustainable in the workplace. Some ideas include things such as: Promote reusable break room supplies (or things like coffee mugs brought from home) Initiate a recycling program Talk about more sustainable transportation options Take advantage of any work-from-home opportunities Go paperless in the office by adopting cloud software Make purchases from other vendors that are doing a similar green thing Find ways to reduce energy consumption throughout everyoneâs workspace Of course there are challenges to getting any of these ideas off the ground. For example, initiating a recycling program is easy on the surface, but it is important to make sure everyone knows what can and cannot actually be recycled. Some of it can be a real mystery even to those who care about recycling. For instance, who knew that you typically canât recycle shredded paper? As an introvert, it can be less than exciting to think about leading initiatives for a greener office space, but there are a couple easy ways to play an active role. First, always lead by example â" if you recycle and prove how easy it can be, others are likely to notice and ask questions. Second, donât be afraid to discuss your big ideas among office friends who may be more vocal about leading a green revolution. A Sustainable Business Future Every day, we have a vote. A vote for the products we want to see in stores, the types of organizations that are held up, and the practices we are okay with businesses implementing. Every day, we cast our votes whenever we pull out cash or a credit card to pay for something. The market responds to the things we purchase much faster than any government or politician can dream. Many consumers have been communicating through their purchases that they want more sustainable designs, and companies are listening. Some studies estimate that consumers are willing to pay up to 66% more for sustainable brands. It isnât just consumers that companies are starting to listen to either; itâs also employees. More and more, employees are demanding their companies take positive steps towards a more sustainable business model. Almost 25% of employees admit that they would start looking for a new job if they found out their company had a terrible environmental record. Nearly that many would be willing to take a pay cut to work for a company that supported green practices. A green office space may not be all that far out of reach. There are many ways to help encourage both your company and your fellow employees to be more sustainable at work. Over time, everyone will reap the benefits, whether it is the company saving thousands on electricity bills, coworkers benefitting from working at home more frequently, or the quiet introvert working in an office full of plants and reaping the benefits of a greener workplace. Can a Job Seeker or a Growing Professional Really Self-Promote without Bragging - Introvert Whisperer
Introvert Whisperer / Can a Job Seeker or a Growing Professional Really Self-Promote without Bragging - Introvert Whisperer Can a Job Seeker or a Growing Professional Really Self-Promote without Bragging? Dorothy January 8, 2016 Career Development, Self-Promotion 2 responses When the term âSelf-Promotionâ is said, it usually causes most people to have pictures of loud mouth baggers come to mind. We all know the type. You run away from this type of behavior as quickly as itâs socially acceptable to do so. The deal is if you donât self-promote how else will you get a new position? How will you get your next promotion? Simple answer: You wonât. The good news is that Self-promotion â" Authentic Self-Promotion is way different than the image you may have conjured up. Self-Promotion is subtle and useful but for some reason, we associate extreme versions with it. Itâs time for an attitude check. Letâs look at the behavior of a Bragger compared to an authentic Self-Promoter: Bragger 1- Overuse of self-centered words like âIâ,âmeâ, âmineâ. Itâs like over salting your food making it offensive and unsatisfying. 2- Useless information. Often a bragger is telling you things that add nothing of value to your life or business. 3- Unbalanced. One big problem braggers have been blithering on too long and donât know when to stop. They donât balance what they are saying to support others or with useful information. Authentic Self-Promoter: 1- Use of inclusive words and statements like: âThe project team I managed, completed the project below budget earning us all an award.â Yes, they still understand you managed the project AND got an award but it was inclusive and acknowledged the role of the whole team. 2- Factual information. If something is a fact, it isnât bragging as long as you pay attention to the next point. 3- Enough. As long as you make your point and move on, your factual information will be enough for your listener to take note of. If they ask you for more information, youâve hit gold. If they donât, no issue because it is still impactful and retained for future use. 4- Useful information. If you are astute, you are thinking in terms of what you can share with the other person that is of value to THEM. Braggers lack insight and forethought in this regard. As a job seeker, you should be thinking about what the top 2-3 results you can share that would rock your prospective employers. If youâre looking for a promotion, you should be thinking about updating your executives with examples of work that demonstrate you are operating at the next level. I hope you have had your attitude adjusted about the importance of Self-Promotion throughout your entire career. We donât just Self-Promote to get a job and then weâre done until the next job search. We also donât Self-Promote up to the next promotion and then stop for a few years. Your Self-Promotion should be considered an ongoing activity. It is a critical success skill that you can learn to do well. Let me emphasize that Self-Promotion doesnât have to be obnoxious to be effective. But, if you donât Self-Promote you, who will? If you ever want to get ahead, you have to learn how to Self-Promote. I want to help you accelerate your career by connecting you with your Free Instant Access to my video that shows you simple, yet effective ways to Self-Promote. When to Choose a Dual Enrollment Program
When to Choose a Dual Enrollment Program Dual enrollment programs are academic arrangements that allow students to enroll in two separate learning institutions, such as a high school and a college. Dual enrollment programs permit students to take college-level classes and to receive university credit while they are still in high school. For some students, this is a great opportunity. However, dual enrollment programs are not for everyone. If you are contemplating a dual enrollment program, here are several factors to consider before you commit: Advantages of dual enrollment programs There are many benefits to dual enrollment programs. One potential advantage is financial in some states, high school students who participate in dual enrollment can do so for free or for a reduced fee. Students who earn university credit through dual enrollment may also spend less time in college completing their degrees. Another great advantage is that dual enrollment offers students the opportunity to challenge themselves with the rigor and pace of college coursework. Dual enrollment is especially ideal for students who are not able to take Advanced Placement(AP) classes, or who wish to take courses that are not available at their high school.Dual enrollment programs allow these students to build a more diverse academic background. This, in turn, can bolster students college and scholarship applications. Dual enrollment also prepares students for the difficult transition from high school to college. Students can become familiar with many aspects of college academics while still attending high school. This experience often eases the challenge of moving on to full-time collegiate studies. These are tips that every college freshman needs to knowwhich may help you in your transition. Risks of dual enrollment programs Despite these fantastic opportunities, there are some risks associated with dual enrollment. First, college classes are generally more rigorous than high school courses. If a student performs poorly in a college course, that grade may be factored into his or her high school GPA. Failing or earning a very low mark in a dual enrollment class can negatively affect the college application process, as some schools may question your ability to successfully complete college-level work. Additionally, if a student chooses to participate in dual enrollment, he or she must be able to communicate effectively with staff members at the college and high school. Students must also ensure that the college courses they take will meet their high school requirements. Confusion over whether or not a class counts can affect your ability to graduate, so clear communication is important. Finally, not all high school students can devote the necessary time and effort to a dual enrollment program. Many students are heavily invested in extracurricularactivities and events at their high schools. You may be unable to attend these activities if you participate in a dual enrollment program. Extracurricular activities are important though, check out why extracurriculars boost college success. Be sure to consider how much time you will need to spend studying before you commit to such a program. These tips on how to identify your study stylemay help you succeed in both programs! For many students, dual enrollment is a wonderful educational opportunity. However, it is not an ideal choice for all students. If you are considering participating in a dual enrollment program, first evaluate the advantages and risks listed above.
What Is the Best Time To Play Guitar
What Is the Best Time To Play Guitar When Should I Practice Guitar? ChaptersLearning How to Learn Guitar.Physical Learning: Body, Muscles, Nerves and BrainLearning to Play Guitar: a Question of MotivationLearning to play guitar is a great adventure that will expose you to new musical horizons. Being a guitar player is more than just knowing how to play guitar; it demonstrates commitment, passion, great musicianship, and, honestly, being able to play songs is an incredible skill. However, the question of when to practice the instrument is always key. Are you ever too old to play the guitar? Or, indeed, can you be too young to understand the fretboard or tablature, to be able to play guitar solos or power chords, to get your head around fingerpicking or the pentatonic scale? You may well feel that your kid is too young to play guitar. Yet, as long as they are simply big enough to hold a guitar, any beginner guitar player - of any age - can become, with a guitar teacher and plenty of practice, one of the best guitarists in the world. The usual questions: Can your 10 year-old play the guitar without prior knowledge of music theory? Will they just be too small to play guitar chords? At that age, will they even want to learn how to play the guitar?Practice guitar at any age!Whatever style of guitar you want to learn, blues, classical, rock, or funk; whether you want to play solo or in a band; whether you want music lessons, enroll in an academy, or you just want to attend occasional workshops at a club; the answer is the same, you can learn guitar at any age.At 8, 12, 20, 45 or 60 years old, you can learn to play the guitar whenever you want as soon as you decide to do so. So, without further ado, let's get you playing your first guitar, equip you with some guitar tricks, and sit you down for your first guitar practice. If you've been practicing the guitar for a while and have taken a break, this type of structure is perfect to get you back on track. It's certainly better than online guitar lessons, which do not give you commitment an d personal support that you might need to rediscover your passion.Remember that learning the guitar is easy, easier than learning other instruments.Private Guitar Teachers to Learn to Play GuitarAnother solution is to take private lessons with an independent teacher - by searching for guitar lessons for beginners on the Internet or directly with Superprof. Beginner guitar lessons are really important if you want to start off with great technique. You can learn from home with a professional - either with video lessons on Skype or in person - who will adapt to your needs and your level. One of the advantages with this type of learning is the relationship you can form with your teacher: not only will they survey your technical progress, but they will also introduce you to new music, and help you discover sounds you would not consider on your own. They can help you learn your favorite songs as well as get to grips with open chords, other basic chords, and some tasty guitar licks. It is the chance to build a bond with another guitar enthusiast - and for them to share with you their favourite guitar songs.Learning By Yourself. Finally, you could try learning alone, using eBooks, online videos, a metronome, or following a guitar course online from home. This is a great way to get started and learn the basics, from finger placement to your first chords. However, it will be difficult to get to grips with all the concepts of lead guitar or fingerstyle guitar if you do not have the support of even a video lesson.(By the way, most Superprof tutors offer one-off free guitar lessons to new customers!)Physical Learning: Body, Muscles, Nerves and BrainOf course, in the right conditions you can practice the guitar at any age.You may encounter some physical challenges as you learn to play.Playing guitar means moving your hands and fingers in new ways, which has to be learnt until it becomes second nature - until it becomes part of your muscle memory. Your movements must be fluid, e fficient, fast, and accurate. You will find you use your whole body, especially your hands, arms, forearms, shoulders, and elbows - even in the most simple chord progression. If you want to learn the guitar, be aware that you will have to work with your body, muscles, nerves and brain.Play guitar while staying focused. You need to practice each movement with care and concentration, while keeping all your muscles as relaxed as possible to handle your guitar smoothly. If you aren't relaxed when you play your guitar will not sound right. You'll struggle to hold even a simple major chord for too long, whilst the guitar basics of technique will seem much more difficult.Adults and the elderly in particular struggle with tension when they learn, due to the build-up of stress from external responsibilities in their private and professional life.Free Yourself from Muscular TensionTo become a good guitarist, play the guitar music you like, develop a particular style like blues, rock, or learn par ticular techniques like the touch technique or arpeggio chords, you have to learn to free your hands, arms and shoulders from tension.Pay attention to this when you choose your method of learning the guitar. Unlike learning violin or piano, which requires impeccable posture, relaxation is essential to playing guitar. You can't play a guitar solo if you are stressed, nor perform the simplest of chord shapes - let alone a barre chord. Most guitar teachers are first and foremost guitar players.Playing guitar can be very enjoyable, but it does require training. When you get started you will have to train your wrists, hands and fingers to perform new movements. The more you practice with your instrument, the easier it will be on your muscles, and you will see progress in each practice session as it becomes more enjoyable. Once you reach a certain level, you can learn improvisation - and you'll be amazed at how short a time it took for you to get there!.Learning to Play Guitar: a Question o f MotivationYou might think it's easier to play guitar when you're young, but it's not always the case. Children have a tremendous capacity for memorization that adults do not have, but they do not always have the intellectual or physical maturity to learn the guitar correctly. They might struggle to read music or to reach all the parts of the fret board.Personal GoalsAlthough you can buy the right size of guitar for almost any age, it is important that it is the child who chooses to play, and not the parents who decide.Learning the guitar: a question of motivationA music professional will be able to advise you on the right solution: accompanied musical discovery if the child is young, private lessons or a more structured music school course. There is no need to have music-loving parents to start the guitar, nor to have ultra-technical knowledge in music, all this can be learned at the same time as the instrument.Personal InvestmentThe guitar requires a minimum of discipline, seriou sness and a regular practice: and this must factor into your decision. There can be no resting on your laurels. Are you ready to clear at least 20 minutes a day to play the guitar? If so, then don't hang around. There are no further restrictions: if you are motivated enough and willing to invest your time, then you will learn guitar quickly. It is important that you enjoy learning and sharing the instrument with your teacher, your friends or your family.Once you have the motivation, you have everything you need to be able to achieve your goal. Playing guitar will help you express yourself and show what you have inside.Join the discussion: is there an age limit to learning the guitar?
Iodine Test Online Biology Tutors Tutorpace
Iodine Test Online Biology Tutors Tutorpace Leaf is most suitable for photosynthesis as it has a large surface area for harvesting sunlight, numerous stomata for exchange of gases and abundant water supply for bringing in water and taking out manufactured food materials. Most of the experiments of photosynthesis are based on the fact that starch is the end products of photosynthesis. It develops a blue black colour with iodine solution. Test Steps: Destarch a potted plant of Croton or Pothos having variegated leaves by keeping it in complete darkness for two hours. Pluck a variegated leaf. Place a rice paper over it.Draw the outline of green and non-greenareas. The green areas contain chlorophyll. Thenon-green areas are pale in colour and devoid of chlorophyll. Place the leaf in boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Boiling kills the leaf. Dip the leaf in spirit or alcohol kept at 50 to 60 degree centigrade with the help of water bath. After 30-45 minutes the leaf will be decolorized completely. Take out the decolorizedleaf; dip in hot water for softening the same. Spread the leaf in a petridish. Pour dilute iodine solution over the leaf. After 4 to 5 minutes, rinse off excess iodine and observe. The leaf has two types of patches, bluish black and yellowish. The bluish black areas are the ones which have starch. The yellow areas are the ones which have no starch. Compare the bluish black and pale areas with green and non-green areas sketched on rice paper. Bluish black areas are the ones which were green previously while non-green areas remain pale coloured. Only chlorophyll containing areas produce starch which is the product of photosynthesis. Chlorophyll is necessary for photosynthesis.
A Day in the Life at Boston University
A Day in the Life at Boston University The tutors behind Varsity Tutors are not just here to teach theyre sharing their college experiences as well. Lena is a Boston tutor specializing in Psychology tutoring, Essay Editing tutoring, Biochemistry tutoring, and more. She graduated from Boston University in 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Biology. Check out her review of her alma mater: VT: Describe the campus setting and transportation options. How urban or safe is the campus? Are there buses or do you need a car/bike? Lena: Boston University is located in the heart of Boston. Fenway Park, the Charles River, and Kenmore Square are a short walking distance away. I would describe the campus as very safe with many resources that provide around-the-clock protection for students. The university has its own shuttle bus system; however, the iconic T Train is a very reliable transportation source. Cars are entirely unnecessary as the T, and readily accessible cabs, will take you anywhere you need to go. Many students bike from place to place as well. VT: How available are the professors, academic advisers, and teaching assistants? Lena: Classes can be quite large at Boston University, and this can be intimidating. However, professors and TAs are very helpful. Academic advisors are always available and willing to discuss your academic career during and after your time at the university. VT: How would you describe the dorm life rooms, dining options, location, socialization opportunities with other students? Lena: Boston University has many dining halls throughout the campus. Each one is unique and equally delicious. Boston University also has a variety of living situations, ranging from dorms to apartments. Living in the Boston University dorms really did spoil me a bit. The John Hancock Student Village is honestly the best dorm living I have ever experienced. Everything is new and up to date, and the maintenance staff is very responsive to any problems there may be. The security at each dorm is another plus when living in the city. VT: Which majors/programs are best represented and supported? What did you study and why? Did the university do a good job supporting your particular area of study? Lena: I studied Biology at Boston University. Other popular and well-known colleges at the university include the School of Management and the School of Communications. Each college was very well represented and supported. The university also provided multiple study abroad opportunities crafted for each area of study. I personally studied abroad in Ecuador with the Tropical Ecology Program. VT: How easy or difficult was it for you to meet people and make friends as a freshman? Does Greek life play a significant role in the campus social life? Lena: Although freshmen dorms are not the nicest of the dorms at Boston University, the experience is truly extraordinary. The bonds made during those first semesters are strong. If that is not enough, there are hundreds of different university groups and activities where you can meet people. I was also a member of TriDelta while I attended Boston University. If you decide to join in on Greek life, it is very prominent. However, I never felt that you would have to be a part of Greek life to be social. VT: How helpful is the Career Centerand other student support services?Do many reputable companies recruit on campus? Lena: There are many recruiting events and networking events sponsored by the university. Also, Boston is home to a large amount of colleges and universities that open their recruiting events to everyone. VT: How are the various study areas such aslibraries, the student union, and dorm lounges? Are they over-crowded, easily available, spacious? Lena: There is one major library called Mugar. It is very large and I never had a problem finding space. Each university building has multiple study areas that are accessible to everyone. The George Sherman Union is a large area that includes many spaces to sit and socialize, or to study, and includes a few options for food. VT: Describe the surrounding town. What kinds of outside establishments / things to do are there that make it fun, boring, or somewhere in between? To what extent do students go to the downtown area of the city versus staying near campus? Lena: As I said before, Boston University is in the heart of Boston. There is always something to do. Whether it is sponsored by the university, or entirely unrelated to anything in school, there is never a dull night. VT: How big or small is the student body? Were you generally pleased or displeased with the typical class sizes? Lena: The student body is very large. This can seem intimidating. I battled with the decision of attending a smaller school. I ended up choosing Boston University because of the amazing opportunities the university applies to its students. I learned to love the large student body and could not have seen my undergraduate experience any other way. The average class size when I first attended was 19. However, it really depends on what you are studying. Most introductory classes are quite large. My Introductory Biology class consisted of about 200 students. As you increase in specificity or difficulty, the class size decreases. VT: Describe one memorable experience with a professor and/or class. Perhaps one you loved the most or one youregretthe most. Lena: I have to say my first memorable experience at Boston University occurred before I was an official student. I attended the Accepted Students Day and was being shown a presentation on the study abroad experiences at Boston University. As a small town girl, realizing I could live in some of the most remote places in the world and call it school was incredible. My mom said that I had the biggest smile on my face during the presentation. Check out Lenas tutoring profile.
